Kevin Frame was born and raised in Coeur d’Alene, ID. He graduated from CDA High School in 1984 and then attended NIC for two years, wrestling for the Cardinals – they won the national championships both years. He went back East finishing his wrestling career for Liberty University where he student coached. He also coached as he earned his master’s degree at UNC Chapel Hill. After school, he worked his way back to North Idaho and started teaching and coaching for approximately 13 years. His side hustle in the summer was a window cleaning business he started to bolster his income. 

In 2000-2001, Kevin built his family home on acreage South of Cabela’s. Being his own general contractor proved to be a successful endeavor (especially for his first time). When it came time to select finishes in the kitchen, he wanted surprise his fiancé and bought beautiful granite countertops. With all the “buzz” about granite, Kevin decided it would be a good investment into the house. When all was said and done, the granite countertops were the favorite part of their house and exceeded expectations with performance, durability and beauty. 

Kevin enjoyed the construction field so much that he started thinking about making a major career change. An opportunity arose when his mother’s childhood friend said her son Bob had started his own granite countertop business. Bob’s business, Ancient Stone, was quickly growing into a very successful business. Kevin made a phone call—and off to Bob’s he went to get an introduction into the stone business. After four days of assisting Bob, Kevin decided to “take the plunge” (to this day, Kevin and his mentor Bob are the best of friends). Kevin started Living Stone, Inc. in April of 2004. He fabricated stone in his shop at his house before and after his daily teaching obligation and on weekends as well. Soon after, Kevin cut his teaching schedule to half time. That lasted less than a year before Living Stone, Inc. was just swamped. The students would have to say goodbye to Mr. Frame. Kevin has never looked back and loves being self-employed in the stone business. Stone being an amazing product, and Kevin’s eye for detail combined with a wrestler’s work ethic has resulted in God’s blessing of which both contractors and DIY’s see the value, enjoy the service of, and experience the confidence and trust in a job being well done at Living Stone.

It didn’t take long before Living Stone got too big for the home shop, so he built a commercial building in Post Falls’ new Expo Business Park. This new facility has allowed Living Stone to provide its clients with the professionalism they need and deserve. Living Stone’s mission is to meet or exceed client’s expectations and has continued to add top of the line equipment and gather incredibly skilled team members to ensure the highest quality product with the best possible customer experience.
